One common method is to tie the bullet weight directly to the end of the line using a Uni Knot. This is a simple and effective way to add weight, but it does have some drawbacks. First, it can be difficult to tie the knot tight enough so that the bullet weight doesn’t slide up and down the line. Second, the knot can cause the line to weaken, making it more likely to break.
Another popular method is to use a fishing swivel. This allows you to attach the bullet weight to the line without tying a knot, and it also prevents the weight from sliding up and down the line. The downside of using a fishing swivel is that it can add some extra weight to the line, which can be a drawback if you’re fishing in a situation where every ounce counts.
Finally, some anglers prefer to use a fishing sinker. This is a small, lead weight that is attached to the fishing line using a small piece of monofilament or wire.
In some cases, such as when fishing for small trout with a very light line, attaching the sinker directly to the end of the line may be preferable to using a leader.
There are 2 ways to attach a sinker to your fishing line: with a loop or by tying it on.
Instructions for making a loop:
Make a small loop at the end of the fishing line using a fishing knot.
Instructions for tying the sinker on:
Tie an overhand knot in the fishing line, leaving a long tail.
Thread the sinker onto the fishing line.
Tie another overhand knot, making sure to go around both the fishing line and the sinker.
Trim the excess fishing line.
This tool punches a hole through the center of the weight, and then you can thread your line through the hole.
Another popular method is to use small rubber bands to attach the weights to your line. either way, be sure to leave enough space between the weights so that your line can still move freely. experimentation will help you determine what works best for you and your particular setup.

Another way to add weight is to use a split shot. This is a small lead weight that you pinch onto your line.
Yet another way to add weight is to use a jig head. This is a weighted head that you put on your hook before baiting it.
Finally, you can also use sinkers made from lead, brass, tungsten, or other materials. These are weights that you tie directly onto your line.
Another option is to use a knot. Some fishermen prefer to use a surgeon’s knot because it is very strong and can hold the weight securely. To tie a surgeon’s knot, make a loop with the line and pass one end of the loop through the hole in the bullet weight. Then, take the other end of the loop and put it over the top of the first part of the loop, before pulling tight.
